polyvore monday: spring pattern mix

Spring Pattern Mix

For this coming Spring season, I'm excited to not only pull out my pastels and brights again, but to mix and match my favorite patterns. This Polyvore Monday edition is one of my favorites. I want this whole entire outfit. If only it didn't cost almost three grand.

baby blue denim

Daily Look Tuxedo Bow Blouse | David Kahn Patchwork Jeans (Similar here) | Vintage Kitten Pumps | Juno Ring c/o Karen London | Maori Brass Feligree Armor Ring c/o Regal Rose

Stepping into Spring with these ultra cool patchwork jeans in different hues of baby blue. To say that I am obsessed would be an understatement. If you look closely, you can see that the edges are frayed which is the perfect undone detail. If you are a long time reader of my blog you would know that I rarely wore (note: past tense) jeans, let alone non-high waisted ones for that matter. So to see me donning these low rise blue jean babys is really me taking a step forward. Psst - I also uploaded a new Youtube video.

my brooklyn crossroads trading find

Steve Madden Annie-L Wedge Bootie

From my nyfw recap post, you'll know that I visited the Crossroads Trading branch in Brooklyn (135 N. 7th St) during my brief trip. As usual, I made a beeline for the shoes (note: I always look at the shoes first when I go second-hand shopping) and found these amazing leopard print wedge booties by Steve Madden from 2011 in my size. One of the reasons why I love second-hand store shopping is the excitement from finding pieces from seasons past. I mean, seriously. These wedges are so heavenly and perfectly me that they deserved their own post.

sequined marchesa

Marchesa Dress via Marissa Collections | ShoeMint Heels

After the BCBG Max Azria show on my first day in New York, I stopped by the Bollare New York office to play dress up. I felt like I was somewhat wearing a dream. This sequined Marchesa dress was so beautiful that I really dreaded taking it off after snapping these photos in it. On the hunt for another silver embellished sequin dress to add in my life.

An Instagram recap of my first season at New York Fashion Week. Even though I was only able to stay for a short period of time, my three days in New York were amazing. I met so many friends that I have come to know from blogging and it's opportunities like these that make me appreciate the use of social media and online presences. This season while I attended nyfw I was also reporting for Crossroads Trading as part of their Style Council. A huge thank-you to Crossroads for the support! I also want to thank you all for reading my blog over the past couple of years and giving me your time on this little internet space of mine. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that have come to me through La Vagabond Dame. I can't wait to see what's in store next! For more snaps, follow me on Instagram @lavagabonddame. Bisous!

bundled up in plaid

Daily Look Shaggy Cardigan and Leather Tote Bag | H&M Knit Sweater | Plaid Pants c/o The Editor's Market | Vintage Pumps | Karen London Rihanna Necklace | Baroque Cross Earrings c/o Regal Rose

Another jewel-toned moment. I wore this on the third day of New York Fashion Week, this time more prepared for the cold in a chunky knit and shaggy cardigan that was like a blanket on me the whole entire day. The shoes were pretty much the most impractical choice of shoes which entailed nearly making contact with face to ground several times. It was also my very first day of being in a city after a snowfall, I mean being from California and living in SoCal, it isn't very often that I get to experience a blizzard right off the bat. The city was really beautiful.

5 minutes with monica of uye surana

One of the friends I visited while I was in New York was designer Monica Wesley of the label Uye Surana. She recently moved her studio to Tribeca in Lower Manhattan and I had the pleasure of stopping by to check out her Spring 2013 Collection (which I previously talked about here) in person. Monica graciously sat down and gave me a rundown of what her brand and Spring 2013 Collection is all about! Check out the video above (in HD)! Isn't she the cutest?

nyfw day 1: saint laurent silhouette

Daily Look Shaggy Crop Jacket and Tuxedo Bow Blouse | Leopard Pants c/o The Editor's Market | Zara Studded Chained Crossbody | Spike Headband c/o Shop Akira | To Be Announced Punch Ankle Boots | Leather Gloves | H&M Fur Stole

Objects in the photos are colder than they appear. This is what I wore on my first day in New York for New York Fashion Week. It was my first time in New York during the winter and I had to brace myself for the cold winds that slapped my face mercilessly. For my first day, I wanted to wear something that was classic and nothing was classier than a tribute to Saint Laurent's silhouette. I loved that these leopard pants gave an edgy vibe to my outfit and the pop of red from my Zara bag was the cheery on top. I spent the day cabbing from one place to another in between shows and finally reunited with my East Coast friends. This season's fashion week trip was short as I'm now back in Los Angeles, but I have plenty more to share from the past four days so watch this space!

christian siriano fall/winter 2013

Christian Siriano's fall/winter ready-to-wear collection was inspired by the golden age of the Russian Opera. And I was lucky enough to witness the fruits of his work from a front row view. This collection was without a doubt eye-catching with its sophisticated shapes, gold lamé, opulent jewel-toned colors and embossed fabrics. It's quite easy to imagine yourself wearing these pieces into an evening at the opera which was what Siriano was going for. Although it seemed as if dresses dominated the majority of the collection (since they left the biggest impression in my mind with their shimmering and glittery fabrics), there were several looks that featured very wearable pieces for your everyday wear such as leather trousers, jersey turtlenecks and my personal favorite, a gold embossed jacquard moto jacket.
