experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted

Photos via iphone

A lazy and rainy gloomy morning called for a big delicious breakfast with my one and only friend from school. I've received questions on where I am attending college from many of you and I've never really answered to them. I guess I'll just take this chance to disclose this mundane tidbit of my life. So, I am currently attending community college here in Los Angeles. You're probably wondering why the hell did I move to Los Angeles just to attend community college. Well, let's just say I really absolutely needed a new environment. I love San Francisco with all my heart, but having been born and raised in the Bay Area for the past 18 years of my life, I needed change. Let's see what adventures are in store for me in the next couple of years, shall we? xoxo

burgundy roses

Mink Pink Roses Sweater | Costa Blanca Maxi Skirt (similar here) | Crossbody c/o Sheinside | Vintage Kitten Pumps | Vintage Belt

It's getting really chilly these days and that's exciting. I can hardly believe that by the end of this week it will be December. After this week, there will only be two more weeks left of this school semester. I can't wait! On a side note, I love this sweater by Mink Pink. I think this might be the first time that I'm rocking a printed sweater here on the blog. I love a good sweater and maxi combo. Though I feel the only thing missing here is a big black floppy hat. I knew I should've worn it.

houndstooth

Photos by Blake Jacobsen

Houndstooth Dress c/o Romwe | American Apparel Knee High Stockings | Quilted Chained Purse | Jeffrey Campbell Drexel Buckle Booties

This dress reminds me of Chanel's Spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection. I love the structured fit, the slight A-line and of course the houndstooth print. Not to mention the endearing line of spikes across the mid-section. Somewhat channeling Cher from Clueless. Also displaying an incessant act of touching my hair, which was all subconsciously done I can assure you. Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Mine was filled with large portions of pumpkin pie.

acid denim sitting at midnight

I rediscovered these film frames sitting in a random folder on my desktop. These were shot randomly one night a few days before I left San Francisco and trekked all the way down to Los Angeles. I left both the crop top and denim jacket back home and now kicking myself wondering why I did so. In other news, I've finally updated my closet shop and included the link above as well. So, now you can once again have a slice of my personal wardrobe! Another new thing on the scene is Naomi & Lavender, a Hollywood based online boutique featuring select curated pieces fit for that cool California look. They just launched this past weekend, so check them out! xoxo

soft grunge & glamour

Photos via My Tumblr Dashboard

You've probably seen these images floating around and about on Tumblr. But I wanted to post these anyway. As seasons change, obviously so does my sartorial taste. I'm so happy it's Fall. I'm the type of person whose mood is affected by the weather which then in turn reflects on that day's selected attire. Now that there are more cloudy days in the week, all I want to wear is black, grey, burgundy, white and all the other dark and muted neutral hues. And I can't even begin to emphasize on the mix match of texture. I am obsessed. Literally.

they don't love you like I love you

American Apparel Beanie | Nasty Gal Moto Crop Jacket | Striped Shirt via Wasteland | H&M Shorts (similar here) | Calvin Klein Stockings | Jeffrey Campbell Drexel Buckle Booties | Juno Ring c/o Karen London

I absolutely love this beanie. Although, some of American Apparel pieces kinda suck when it comes to quality, despite their declaration of being made in the U.S., this beanie does not fail. I've been wearing it a lot lately now that the temperature is slowly dropping. I actually wore this a lot during the cold seasons back in San Francisco, I don't know, beanies make me feel protected and I just love how comfortable it is. Also, vertical stripes and burgundy suede combination really tickles my fancy.

I've got the bruises from letting go

Leopard Coat (similar here & here) | Cheap Monday Nomi Tank | H&M Pleather Shorts | Vintage Knee-High Boots via Crossroads Trading | Forever 21 Bag

My sartorial uniform for the bipolar days of Los Angeles in Fall. Self update and to take note of: I've done quite a bit of self-evaluating as of late. And the conclusion that I have come to is that, besides being in love with personal style and as pixels on a screen, I'm much more than that. I'm an 18 year old girl with big goals in life. I created this blog when I was 15 with only the thought of creating an online visual diary of my thoughts and musings. It's been nearly three years and it has evolved into my personal sartorial and life documentations. Along the way, I've grown and matured. As did my style and photos. I can't say I've completely changed as a person, but rather my views and mindset have changed. Blogging started as a necessary creative outlet and it will always be that way. Of course, it helped shaped my career goals, but at the end of the day, I'm just doing this for fun.

fall jewel tones

Colorblock Knit Sweater via Crossroads Trading | Forever 21 Gold Lamé Skirt and Hat (similar here) | American Apparel Knee Socks | Asos Leopard T-Bars

Beautiful color palettes and a mixture of textures. I absolutely love Fall wear. I filmed my first ever outfit video for this outfit which you can view here! In which I explain more of this outfit in detail. It's pretty exciting for me to take on videos and I really enjoy putting them together. So, I hope you guys enjoy watching them! Bisous!

Every now and then, when life hits hard and you're jerked back to reality, a few uplifting words goes a long way. These words will always be imprinted in my mind.

la vagabond dame x le pretty stellar

VoilĂ ! Here is my second video up on my Youtube channel. Some of you may or may not be familiar with Lily from Le Pretty Stellar. She was here for a few days visiting Los Angeles from Miami and we decided to meet up on Friday. We met up in Little Tokyo where we went to the purikura booths in the Japanese Village Plaza, then Melrose Ave to browse Wasteland and finished the night at The Village Idiot. After constant communication via social media for the past few months, it was nice to finally meet in person! I love this girl. A big thanks to her boyfriend, Justin, for helping me document for this video! Hope you guys enjoyed viewing a slice of my life.

grit grunge

Photos by Blake Jacobsen

Nasty Gal Moto Crop Jacket (similar here) | Tartan Button-up c/o Lavish Alice (similar here) | Chiffon Makeshift Bow | Pleather Zip Leggings | Jeffrey Campbell Drexel Buckle Booties | Vintage Quilted Pressed Purse | Nars Lip in Heatwave

Excuse the photo overload, I couldn't narrow down which photos I felt portrayed my outfit in the best light. So, I decided to throw them all in there, hah. This entire ensemble is basically the complete opposite of my previous look. But this is what I actually wear most of the time going to school or running errands: dark, leather, basics with pops of red via lip. Having to commute by myself most of the time on public transportation, I like keeping it basic and dark when I can to avoid looking approachable as much as possible. Nevertheless, this is pretty much how my style ranges. Regarding aesthetic, I absolutely love the contrast between tartan print and leather. And I'm pretty in love with my Drexels.
