Friday ended on a good note with sunny skies after a random day of showers and the start to the weekend. This past week has been a long one and I am so ready to kick back for the next couple of days and unplug with a good book and cup of tea in hand. Nothing cheers me up like good literature. Well, retail therapy and food are also high up on my list. Happy weekend!

I can already feel the creativity juice churning in my brain as I am inspired to dress up in black with gold embellishments and chunky gold adornments (like always) and don anything gold foiled to this year's one and only senior prom. After all I've never been fond of those overly done sugary princess gowns you start seeing in magazine ads and window displays around this time of year. We'll see how this goes.

Made a stop at a falafel drive-in joint and then took some photos out of convenience. This week is my spring break and the weather has been kind. Currently I'm enjoying my life as a second semester senior in high school. With most major school activities and events wrapping up, there's favorably more time on my side as I plan for this summer's travels and plans for college. On another note, I can't seem to shy away from anything pastel this season. It's taken over spring 2012 and my closet as well. There’s something so feminine and alluring about the perfect pastel head-to-toe look. Definitely keep your eyes peeled as I continue to play with my pastel palettes which more specifically translates to my Essie polish collection. x

Reconnected with a childhood friend over Sunday brunch à la almond cappuccino and New York cheesecake at one of my favorite cafes in downtown. It was one of those nice sunny days after previous rain showers and it felt good to be out basking in the sun once again.

If you haven't gotten enough of the pastels for spring yet, here's another ensemble to pay homage to Louis Vuitton's spring/summer 2012 collection and my favorite pastel trio. For this outfit, I opted for a subtle minimalist look. And I must confess, this bustier will see no end in my future outfits, the versatility is absolutely amazing. And here's to my new Vince Camuto heels, although it's rare to see me in anything but platforms, the simplicity of these two-tone heels is just too charming. These are a pair of heels I can still call my go-to's in my 50s and 60s without risking a broken ankle.
